The topic of preparing legs when wearing pantyhose seems to focus exclusively on keeping legs shaved. I have previously read an article about making sure your legs are in shape to enhance the look of hosiery which seems equally important. Doesn't a pair of legs look fantastic in pantyhose when the legs are well-toned?
In sports these days, hosiery has become rather common. Most likely for compression, reducing muscle vibration during competition, and perhaps for post workout recovery. When I was young I remember women wearing support pantyhose when walking. I thought their suntan legs looked wonderful glistening in the sun. I also remember a news segment where the reporter was in the locker room with a NFL football player being asked if he would wear pantyhose to help with performance during competition. The player looked rather uncomfortable while holding a pair of suntan pantyhose. Anyway, athletics and legwear sparked my memory of when I swam in high school.
I think people are aware that swimmers shave their bodies when competing in big events. In high school it was a ritual when finals approached. As a team we would "shave down" heading into end of the season swim meets. It was expected of us in order to produce our best results of the season. We would go to our friends house and do a group shave. I remember a couple of pretty girls coming over as well to witness the event. It was the first time we, as males, experienced this sensation-a smooth, hair free body with more sensation to the touch. I liked the feel...clean and smooth. I enjoyed how my legs felt underneath my bedsheets. I even remember one attractive girl in my chemistry class rubbing my leg to experience it herself.
Before practice one day, the coach was talking to our team about shave down and preparing for finals. Shaving was talked about and how it removed the dead skin layer to help improve water feel. His explanation was that it exposes the nerve endings and will feel like you are gliding through the water. There is also the drag factor-reducing friction when in the water. What was interesting was that someone asked how we could preserve the feeling before our actual race. The coach explained that some swimmers will wear nylons until their actual event. This seemed kind of crazy to me...males shaving their bodies and wearing pantyhose!
I remember going to our friends house after practice. He had actually asked his mom to buy him pantyhose for this. His mom showed up a little later after we had been there. And when she walked through the front door handed him a pair of pantyhose in it's package. I knew the major brands but did not recognize the brand she bought (probably a cheap department store brand). I do remember they were a suntan/brownish shade. Another one of my friends checked out the package and started reading the description as if intrigued...cotton crotch, etc.
Anyway, it was a unique experience. Not all the males wore pantyhose, in fact only a few did. However, I do remember at the qualification meet one guy from another team diving into the pool wearing jet black pantyhose. The whole idea was an interesting sight to see, athletic male swimmers with shaved bodies wearing pantyhose. I guess just another one of those athletic circumstances where pantyhose serve a function. So be observant, your swimmer friends might be pantyhose wearers!
