Footwear

  • What type of footwear do you like to wear with hosiery?  I always thought running shoes looked great when paired with pantyhose.  It is kind of a casual look but when women have an athletic build with tone legs, I think the combination looks amazing.  Maybe it goes back to the aerobics era when women would wear leotards and hosiery together.  More recently you can find sneakers and pantyhose on cheerleaders and Hooters waitresses.  To me, they make their legs look great and being curious something I definitely had to try it.  I even recently bought myself a full Hooters uniform so I can experience the Hooters look (maybe I will post a picture as a male server).  I also have been enamored with the look of stiletto pumps.  For some reason when it comes to high heels, I've always thought black patent stilettos that are 3-4" look fantastic.  I don't care for most styles of high heels but for some reason the stiletto heel looks so classy and sexy, maybe because of all the pantyhose wearing females on packaging and in photos I have seen.  Curiosity eventually lead to me nervously buying my own pair.  Obviously, not an issue for females but when you are a male and go into a store to buy heels for yourself it is nerve-wracking.  Luckily, the sales staff helped me like any other customer and I purchased my first pair of black stiletto pumps.  And not that I am trying to dress or present myself as a female but the idea of wearing a pair of silky pantyhose along with a pair of classy stilettos seemed like something fun, even pleasurable to try.  My first time time wearing was interesting wondering how women were able to walk and balance themselves.  In time, I was able to get more comfortable.  I do love how pantyhose and stilettos look when paired and enjoy wearing both together even though it does look very feminine but I guess that is the point.  Hopefully, my pictures bring out the best in both!

  • @SheerMark Your pictures look great! I perfer wearing heels with pantyhose, any type of high heels. I bet it was nerve-wracking for you buying your heels, I couldn't do it. I just shop on eBay or Amazon for them. So out of your two pictures I like the one with you in heels the best!

  • @SheerMark such beautiful hosed leg's

  • Heels with hose look the best!

  • @fun pantyhose There's quite simply no other natural pairing.
I grew up as a young teenager wanting to wear both.  But I never wanted to wear one without the other.  High heels (albeit kitten heels of 2.5 inches) and white socks just wasn't the same.  And wearing nylons with sneakers or penny loafers just didn't afford the garment nor your legs the level of respect they deserved.  Heels and hosery was and still is the perfect marriage of fashion.  It's a timeless aesthetic.

  • @Carrie Stuart That is one impressive heel collection sadly I rarely see women wearing nice heels and fine hosiery anymore, flip flops crocs and those Ugg type slippers are the norms

  • @David S I know, eh?  It's pretty disgusting how casual society now seems to be with their dressing for 90% of the activities humans participate in.  Getting dressed nicely now appears to merely mean that you are wearing expensive sneakers with your best yoga pants and stretchy crop top.

  • Wow, Carrie's heel collection is impressive.  It is such a beautiful look to pair quality hosiery with heels.  It is interesting that so many young women have never worn pantyhose and maybe even heels.  Plenty wear leggings but few in pantyhose.  Although it is funny when Halloween comes around so many female adult costumes include legwear and heels.  Probably one of the few times of the year where women will actually wear hosiery and heels together.  I guess the combination is just a costume ensemble to many.

  • @SheerMark LoL...I think that halloween is the only time of year that women get a hall pass to be a full on slut, and guys get to be girls.  Neither is really long enough time for women to get a true sense of the power in her stiletto heels, nor what 10-20 denier sheers will do for captivating the imaginations of most of the observing men in the room, nor for men to master the art of moving gracefully in stilettos.

I think that the guys who go as girls don't want the evening to end so they don't turn into pumpkins once again and have to wear all their boring guy clothes for another 364 days until they can do it again legitimately.  That is, unless their high heels are absolutely murdering them!  A very real possibility for someone who never otherwise wears heels like that.

Thanks Mark.   Yes, I love heels, primarily stilettos.  I have a lot of different colours and have them in a few different materials with a few little accent pieces.  Napa, patent leather and suede are the main materials.  I think there are one or 2 made of PU (usually the affordable brands)  Don't ask me which are may favourite.  That answer will vary according to my whims but it might be one of my Casadei pair or maybe a pair of Ted Baker high heels that I can no longer find any more.  Kate Spade, Jessica Simpson, Nine West, Steve Madden, and even Aldo have contributed to the collection.  There are also a couple from luxe brands like Jimmy Choo-London and Saint Laurent-Paris to round out most of the collection.
