Ankle bracelet

  • @SD Thanks SD.  Those models are no longer available.  I'm super fortunate to have grabbed these when I was able because I can't find them any more of their website, at all.  They are made by an Italian designer of footwear called Casadei.  The model of this particular shoe is the ELOISA.

If that particular style, height and shape of stiletto is of interest to you, go to the Casadei website and search under "BLADE".  There's a whole line of Casadei Blade heels available in all sorts of colours and styles.  They keep changing their line to keep that iconic "blade" stiletto fresh and current.

  • Interesting Carrie, I think you are probably pretty accurate that we have similar tastes in pantyhose.  What I was really surprised about though was your picture with the ankle strap heels.  Oh my gosh, I have recently been looking at a pair of heels with a similar design, just a thinner ankle strap.  I really like the look and how the strap wraps around the ankle.  Your photo wearing the ankle strap heels definitely surprised me!  I think you and I also have similar interest in heels as well, maybe we are distant cousins.  Your stiletto collection does look amazing.  Because I'm an infrequent wearer, I don't need nearly the amount that you have but it is my favorite style of women's shoes.  Unfortunately, I am at the upper end of the size range for women's shoes so it can sometimes be a little challenging finding a pair or color I like.

And yes, I see no reason for wearing an ankle bracelet with the ankle stilettos.  That would obviously look silly.  And once again,  just like you, I think the simplicity of a single ankle bracelet does look the best.

  • @SheerMark That "strap" around those black patent Casadei heels is actually refered to as a "cuff" because of its wide nature.  I have one other pair of pumps (black suede) that have a similar width cuff that fastens around the ankle.  Those, too, are very sexy shoes due to their full d'Orsay style of both sides being cut away.  Skinny 4 inch suede wrapped stiletto completes the look with a pointy toe box and a regular heel cup.  I only have the 1 pair of classic black pointy toe pumps with a skinny ankle strap, but all my strappie sandals have a necessary ankle strap.  I have 2 or 3 styles that have a strap that goes across the top of the foot.  Those are a Mary Jane style of shoe...lower stiletto heels of about 3 inches.
FWIW, I'm typically an 8.5 US in a pointy stiletto or an 8 in flats or running shoes.  In Euro sizing, that makes me a 38.5 but if the shoe is made in Italy (as a lot of designer brand heels are) I need to upsize to a 39.  Most women do the same when buying European heels.  The equivalency in UK is size 6.

  • Yes i do also find women wearing sheer pantyhose and an ankle bracelets really sexy and always wonder if it is over or under  the pantyhose .

  • @s j I'm of the view that the only correct way to wear one is over, or on top, of your hosiery.  But as you may be aware, there is much debate about that among women, and particular men who take an interest in women's legs, and how they adorn them.
If you are trying to figure out if a woman is wearing hers over or under her nylons, and you are observing from a discrete distance and thus unable to verify your suspicions from in close, consider how the anklet drapes on the leg just above her ankle.  If there seems to be a natural flow to how the chain is sitting against her skin, it's likely free to move in a natural fashion.  That would usually indicate that it is being worn outside.  If it seems a little uneven and not a smooth parabolic shape around her leg, it's likely trapped underneath her nylons.  Also, consider the lustre it imparts in the available light.  If it appears bright or shiny, it's likely being worn outside her hosiery.
It's not always as straight forward as that.  And even figuring out whether a woman is actually wearing ultra sheer hosiery, or she simply has spectacularly toned legs and great skin, is often as tricky to ascertain until you are quite close, providing the lighting in the venue is decent.
    Happy hunting 😁

  • If I may chime in too, I agree with all the reasons previously stated for wearing anklets over, rather than under, tights or stockings. Even the very finest denier hosiery would detract from the anklet's delicate beauty.  Also, as mentioned by Carrie, the ornament can move naturally and appealingly when not constrained by the cling of hosiery.  I definitely think anklets are a sexy accessory!

Ah yes, Carrie,  your reference to figuring out whether a woman is either wearing sheer hosiery, or she has flawless legs, is one of my great pleasures, though not enjoyed as frequently as I would like.  I think it is true to say that most women and men regard dark shades of sheer hosiery - black in particular - as being the most attractive. However, nude shades, to my mind,  have huge appeal also, because of the discreet look. Seeing nude shades on others makes me wonder if she is wearing them just because she enjoys the sensation, and that is something I am fully in tune with!

Carrie, I've just noticed your new profile picture!  Wow, you look sensational!  So beautiful, and a super pose.  I adore your outfit - such pretty and sexy hold-up stockings and heels. I do like the tops of your stockings - they have just the right depth, and not too fancy.

  • @Janine J Thank you, Janine.  That was shot a bit over a decade ago at a time when I was working and associating with other fashion and portrait photographers who collaborated quite often with each other as assistants, or lighting specialists, or occasionally a muse.  I was also fortunate enough to live in a terrific basement suite with 3 bedrooms and a good sized living room in an open conceptual design that afforded me ample space to shoot and create at home, instead of always needing to rent studio space and transport my lighting.  Did a fair amount of work from my cozy home studio.

I didn't often, at all, get in front of the lens for anyone, although I'd regularly ask a particularly beautiful make up artist (several of which I often worked with) to "stand in" on set before the model was ready to work.  My comfort level was behind the camera, never in front.  But, I had my lighting set up ready to go, I figured, and the model was still busy being prepped by the MUA. To ease my mind, I wanted a few test pops to ensure I was getting the correct bounce and proper amount of reflection off that beautiful floor, and no spill onto the black background.  I quickly grabbed the black necktie prop and slipped into some black stay up stockings to contrast the big white shirt after doffing my jeans, and of course adding some black patent heels to the formula...every girl's go-to.   I assumed the position I would be asking my model to take.  Camera tripod mounted, choice of lens attached, manual exposure checked via hand held meter, remote trigger in hand, I fired a few.  It kind of worked!  Beginners luck! (as a model I never aspired to be)
