@Pantyhose Lover LOL....OMG! You'll only last as long as it takes for the snow to start to melt. After that, you can definitely feel the cold and the wet only makes it worse!

Same. I never wear anything north of 20 denier, no matter what the temperature. I cover the rest of my legs with long knee high leather dress boots and a full length formal wool dress coat. I don't feel any cold at all down there, even in my shortest mini and nothing more than 20 denier pantyhose.
I don't find the 1 pair of 30 denier stockings I own very attractive, and once we get into 40 denier pantyhose, can we really call them sheer any more?? There's very little skin to be seen underneath. Your legs start looking like plastic Barbie Doll legs in that opacity. And that's especially so if they have any gloss or shine to them as well. They're just a solid NO for me beyond 20 denier. Temperature be damned!
FWIW, this was shot in March and I'm wearing 20 denier Elly Cromye stockings. (not my longest coat)
