Pantyhose obsession

I love pantyhose, I have been wearing since I was 12. Does anyone know why we become so obsessed with pantyhose? I have some theories but I would love to hear what you all think

@Alison Nylon It's different for girls than for guys of a certain age.
For girls, it's mostly about wanting to be older, or to be perceived as such because with age comes priviledge. The priviledge of having a later curfew, or going to shopping centres with your girlfriends instead of having to have your mom with you, or even just going to a school dance without a chaperon. For girls, it mostly means wearing make up, doing your hair a certain way, or wearing certain clothes or types of clothes. Pantyhose (stockings) were recognized by most girls and their mothers as a rite of passage. It was once you got permission to wear them all the time (at school) and not just on special occasions like at church or to birthday parties and dances, it was your official nod to having now joined womanhood.
I think that prepubescent boys likely started to notice an awakening in their minds and imaginations right around the time young girls were transforming in front of their eyes into beautiful young women. They noticed the make up, and hair, and the different clothing we started wearing. I think that pantyhose (as well as other delicate underthings) became a constant mystery and source of fascination to the young lads. When you'd catch them day dreaming in class, you usually caught them staring at your legs tucked under your desk. Girls were definitely high on their interest list, and anything that had to do with cute girls and what they wore, or spent their time doing was of interest to boys.
I think pantyhose was a bit of an obsession with a lot of guys who had newly become interested with girls. As a girl, if you wore them, you noticed you seemed to get more attenton paid to you, and if you wore them to a school dance, the guys loved it enough to tend to ask you to dance more often, even the fast songs! If you took off your shoes so you weren't taller than they were for a slow dance, the guys seemed to really appreciate that and seemed to stick around you for most of the rest of the night. Some girls had noticed that coincidence of events and would compare notes with each other noting the boys' reactions.
I think that for guys, it all tied in with puberty and that powerful chemical change going on in their bodies and brains. Perhaps pantyhose was merely a catalyst for all that. All I know is that it really did leave an imprint with some guys that will likely last their life time.
